Scotstown Tidy Towns Group welcomes the publication of the national adjudication report on 9th September 2013. Congratulations to Moynalty, Co Meath, the overall winner, and to Glaslough and Carrickmacross who picked up medals for excellence. Scotstown was pleased to gain 7 marks on last year's score, a result of a great community effort during the year. The report was very fair, giving much food for thought, and ideas on how we can progress in the competition over the next few years. Thanks to the school, the business people and clubs, our community workers, the visitors and residents who all contributed to this increase in marks. These include projects like community gardens, water saving projects, biodiversity initiatives, and education and environmental exhibitions. Applications close on Monday September 30th at 5 pm. |
